The Chickasaw Tribal Utility Authority was created under the direction of Governor Bill Anoatubby and by act of the Chickasaw Tribal Legislature on October 17, 1986. (Chickasaw Nation Tribal Code, Section 2-108.1). The Chickasaw Tribal Utility Authority was licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 5, 1990 to purchase power at wholesale rates and to resell that power at retail rates. CTUA provides electrical, water, sewer and natural gas services. The services provided by CTUA are structured so that the Chickasaw Nation saves money and the authority makes money. This is done by purchasing electricity and natural gas-- by contract--at a wholesale rate from a supplier then reselling that power to our customers at a discount rate. CTUA is the first tribal utility authority in the U.S.to provide electrical power both on and off tribal property.
The headquarters office of the authority is located at 2020 Lonnie Abbott Industrial Boulevard, in Ada, Oklahoma. The telephone number to its office is (580) 272-5125.
